Anderson, Kim

California University. Has participated in several exhibitions. and is an
Indiana Arts Grant recipient. She recently received 1st place at the Well Street
Art Fair and is an Adjunct Professor at Ball State University.
Asselberghs, Wally
– Received his ceramic training at
the Art Academy in Antwerp, Belgium. He has been working in clay for more that
25 years and started specializing in “Naked Raku” in 1995. He started organizing
and teaching workshops in Belgium on this technique in 1998. He is also the
creator and moderator of the “International Naked Raku Forum” on the Internet
which has over 500 members from 27 different countries exchanging information
about this technique.

Breidenbach, Peggy
– For the past decade or so, Peggy’s
pottery hobby has turned
into a passion. In addition to IAC instruction, she
has engaged in ceramic classes at The
Clay House, and University of California in LA. She
makes functional and decorative pottery using wheel-throwing and hand-building
techniques.
Brill, Becky
– Has been involved in photography
and jewelry making for the past 30
years. She has been active in the Photo Venture
Camera Club since 2001, securing judges
for competitions and inviting artists to come speak
to the group.

others. He is currently the Ceramics Studio Technician at the Art Center.

Drizin, Joan
– Graduated from the Academy of
Communicative Arts in Cincinnati. She worked as a graphic artist for 15 years.
She also studied ceramics and metal sculpture at the Art Center. Currently, she
works out of her studio in Noblesville and sells her work at art fairs.
Easter, Jean
– Degree in Restoration of
Decorative Objects from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She was
the Frame Conservator for the Indianapolis Museum of Art for 11 years. In 2001
she started Easter Conservation Services where she conserves frames, furniture,
gilded objects and does architectural gilding, faux finishing, archival framing
and matting. Recipient of a Creative Renewal Fellowship, she studied with the
head frame conservator of the National Portrait Gallery in London, England. In
May 2004, she was selected to be a part of a group that studied French furniture
making in France.
Ellis, Lee
– Has enjoyed woodworking as a
second career for the past 10 years. Member
of the American Association of Woodturners and past
president of the local Woodturners
Association. He has worked with numerous woodworkers
and has attended many symposiums to further his studies in turning wood. His
work has been at the Broad Ripple Art Fair, Penrod and many Indiana libraries.
His pieces are on display at the CCA
Gallery in Zionsville where he serves as President.
Eney, Carole

classes at the Art Center and currently is the
Education Associate at the Art Center.
Engelland, Timothy
– A painter and a woodcut artist,
Tim returned to the Midwest
after thirty years in New England and New York City.
He is an active participant in the Herron School drawing group and is
represented by the Gallery of Graphic Arts in New
York. His work is included in numerous private
collections as well as The National Library in Ireland and the Museum of Fine
Arts in Boston.

workshops in wax, clay sculpture, stone carving and bronze. He has been
commissioned for many pieces that are on display in
Cancun, Mexico.

Hampshire. Grade creates sculptural installations and mixed media, assemblage
artworks, many with an environmental
theme. She is interested in how our society’s
products and architectural structures mimic nature, and likes to work with
salvaged materials and multiples of objects. Grade is also
the Exhibitions Associate at the Indianapolis Art
Center.
Gray, Sylvia
– BA, Indiana University,
Bloomington. She began painting on silk in 1994 under the guidance of Stephanie
Lewis Robertson. The majority of her work is painted silk scarves which can be
viewed in the Basile Gallery Gift Shop. She continues to work on her painting
and drawing skills. Sylvia’s artwork may be seen at the Art Center’s Basile

Grayson, Eric
– Film historian and collector
living in Indianapolis. He specializes in
16mm and 35mm film screenings and strives to mesh
historical context with entertainment. His vast library of obscure material has
been used in several productions,
notably the A&E Biography segment on Ernie Kovacs.
The upcoming Encyclopedia of the Midwest will include two of his articles on
film production and history. Eric has provided
films and lectures in New York, Kansas and even
Finland.

Jewelry Design Institute. She exhibits her work in the Chicago area and has
taught both adults and children since 1992. She studied gemology with the
Gemological
Institute of America and has also worked in fine
jewelry manufacturing to expand her jewelry experience. She was a charter member
of the board of the Chicago Metal Arts Guild and is currently serving as a
member at large.

Massey is a Signature Member of Audubon
Artists and the American Academy of Women Artists. She also holds memberships
with Oil Painters of America, American Artists Professional League and
Allied Artists of America, among others. She was
included in a book on painting still life and florals published by International
Artist Magazine, released in 2005 and will be featured in Pure Pastel, to be
released in 2006. Ms. Massey was featured in the May 2005
issue of Art of the West magazine on still life
painting. Ms. Massey was invited to exhibit in Florence, Italy in the Florence
Biennale, 2005. She was also juried into the national Oil Painters of America

Indianapolis artist and art teacher in the MSD of Lawrence Township. He has won
several teaching awards during his career including the WRTV Channel 6 Teacher
of the Week, IPALCO Golden Apple Award and two Lilly Endowment Teacher
Creativity Fellowships. He was chosen to participate in the 2003 Indianapolis
500 Festival Inc. Art in Motion project designing a fiberglass racecar.

– From Senegal, West Africa. He has
taught batik in both the U.S. and West
Africa. His batiks have been sold in the U.S., Germany, France and Italy. In
1997, he participated in the Crosscurrents exhibition at the Art Center. Izo’s

Neckar, Bruce
– Honors Graduate of Ball State
University. Studied with Floyd Hopper and
Burling Boaz and assisted Thomas Minkler in Printmaking and Drawing at BSU.
Participated in both group- and one-man exhibitions and has won many awards. He

in Printmaking.

Okamoto, Yuri

in Tokyo, Japan. She has studied glass
techniques such as pate de verre, casting, fusing, slumping, mosaic glass and
lampwork.
She moved to the United States in 2002 and has been
blowing glass at the Art Center since the fall of 2003. Yuri’s artwork may be

– Sharon is experienced in lead
tubing and color overlays (German style),
some Pyrex scientific work and moretti glass. She has received schooling and
apprenticeships from many different instructors, including Penland and Pilchuck.

– Freelance artist, illustrator and
designer. He has been a horological sculptor
and designer for 25 years and is also a corporate Web site designer. He has
taught at the International Business College, Purdue University and the
Indianapolis Art Center for the last 17 years. He

Peterson, Nancy

studies, University of Tennessee. Taught
ceramics for 8 years at the Center for the Arts in Midland, Michigan. Has taught
various art classes for Carmel Parks and Recreation for the past 10 years,
working with
preschoolers through adults. Has had work
commissioned in ceramics, stained glass, fabric sculpture, furniture painting
and jewelry.
Pinto, Toni
– BFA in Printmaking, Southern
Oregon University; BA in Industrial
Technology, California State University. Began a photography career in
photojournalism, then worked in commercial photography for 10 years in Seattle,
WA. Recently began
translating photographic work using the printmaking
process.
Points, Jerry
– MA, Indiana State University; MFA,
Printmaking at Southern Illinois
University. Taught printmaking and drawing at the
University of Evansville and Photoshop at Ivy Tech, Columbus. Former Art
Director at Lilly and Creative Director at Outside Source Design. Working in his
studio at the Stutz, Jerry is focusing on painting and digital medium. 2004
Penrod award in painting and former Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship recipient.
Prado, Lisa
– MBA, Indiana University; BS,
Purdue University. Certified PMC instructor
through the PMC Guild. She has been involved with
the design, creation and sale of jewelry since co-founding Gemware in 1987. Her
fabricated pieces are created in her
home studio and can be found at various retail
locations.
Ramanathan, Chitra
– MBA and BFA from University of
Illinois. She has taught at the
university level and exhibited work in universities
and commercial art galleries. She has had several solo exhibitions in New York
and Chicago. Her work can be found in private collections in the U.S. and
Europe. Following the recent renovation of the Hotel Bellagio, two large
paintings by Chitra were permanently displayed in the Café Bellagio.
Reiberg, Robert
(Ceramics Dept. Head) – BA, Indiana
University, Bloomington, IN.
Having taught in public schools in the Virgin
Islands, Chicago and Indianapolis, Reiberg is now a fulltime potter working out
of his home studio. He produces functional and
nonfunctional ceramics for galleries and art fairs.
He has worked and taught at the Art Center since 1989. Received Faculty of the
Year award in 2003 from the Art Center. Bob’s artwork may be seen at the Art
Center’s Basile Gallery Gift Shop.
Ryan, Tim
– A self-employed artist and
instructor since 1973. His ceramics have been
displayed at numerous regional art fairs,
exhibitions and galleries, and several of his installation art pieces, created
in collaboration with his students, are permanently
installed at sites throughout Indianapolis and
elsewhere in Indiana. Has received Individual Artist Grant Awards from the
Indiana Arts Commission and the Arts Council of Indianapolis.
Savini, Shelley
– Graduate student in Art Education,
Herron School of Art. She lives and
works in Broad Ripple as a mural artist and fine
arts painter.
Scherer, Mike
– BA in Fine Arts and Education,
Indiana University. Has 30 years
experience providing art instruction in the studio
arts. In this 30 years he has also produced a wide variety of illustrations,
paintings, murals and sculptures for businesses
and other organizations.
Schuetz, Caryl
– BA, Butler University. Has been
involved in quilt-making and fiber arts
for almost thirty years. She has studied with
national fiber artists/teachers at Quilt Surface Design Symposiums, Pro Chemical
and Dye Company, the IAC, and Nancy Crow Timberframe Barn. She has been teaching
and lecturing nationally since 1990. She had a solo exhibit at the Indianapolis
Children’s Museum and exhibits nationally in invitational and juried shows. Her
works are in private collections here and abroad.
Segovia, Magdalena M.,
– Born in Veracruz, Mexico. She
graduated from the “Escola
Panamericana de Artes” in Brazil with a Degree in
Painting and Photography. She has had her work displayed in both collective and
individual exhibitions in Brazil and Mexico. Her work is permanently on display
in the Banco de Arte Gallery, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Siskind, Ellie
– Regionally recognized artist with
work in the permanent collections of
three Indiana art museums in addition to being a
recipient of the 2002-03 Creative Renewal Grant from the Arts Council of
Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Art Center
showcased her work entitled “Artists and Models” in
the fall of 2002. Siskind’s work has been exhibited in over 50 invitational and
competitive group exhibitions and twelve one-person shows. The Siskind
bibliography includes forty articles in various publications
and books.

Her illustrations have appeared
in many local publications. She has also illustrated
three children’s books. She also depicts histories of companies, churches and
schools in watercolor in the form of
composites for opening and anniversary celebrations.

Traugott, Leah
– Graduate of Herron School of Art,
Indianapolis. She has had 43 oneperson
shows, received numerous awards in juried
exhibitions, and her work is in the permanent collections of three Indiana
museums. She served on the Board of Directors at
the Indianapolis Art Center and three terms as a
visual artist panelist of the Indiana Arts Commission. She is also a Cardinal
member of the Indiana Watercolor Society. She has
been a longtime instructor of watercolor and pastel
and was recognized as Faculty of the Year at the Art Center in 2000. Leah’s
artwork may be seen at the Art Center’s Basile
Gallery Gift Shop.
Trujillo, Giselle
– Originally from Caracas,
Venezuela. Her work is in many private and
public collections in Venezuela and has exhibited
her work in many galleries there. She is
a producer and worked on numerous projects in her
native country.
Vance, Bobbie
– Has sewn from childhood and is a
self-taught dyer of fifteen years.
Within the past seven years, she has been designing
and constructing art-to-wear from her hand dyed, printed silks. She is a
founding member of Artist’s Own, a 24 artist run
cooperative art shop of mixed media in Lafayette,
IN.
Villanyi, Laura

She has been a student of the arts
for all her adult life, delving into several
different mediums. She is an active member of the International Society of Glass
Bead Makers and shows and sells her work in several states.
Vondersaar, Joe
– BFA Visual Communications from
Ball State University. He worked as
an Associate Photographer for many years for a
photographic company. He received an
Indianapolis Arts Council Creative Renewal
Fellowship Award in 2001. He is a member of the American Society of Media
Photographers and has had work exhibited in numerous
exhibitions.
Waddle, Amanda
– MA and BFA in Ceramics, Ball State
University. While in school,
Amanda worked as a graduate assistant in the
ceramics studio mixing clay, glazes and
firing the pottery. She has taught ceramics to both
adults and children at the Indianapolis Art Center.

– Attended the American Musical and
Dramatic Academy in NYC. Justin
grew up on stages around Indianapolis including
TOTS, Civic, Phoenix, MRTC and YAT. Mr. Wade has taught drama in Lawrence
Township schools and IPS, and is currently the Director of Young Actors Theatre.
