REQUIREMENTS: · Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older for volunteer positions, however an exception can be made for those volunteering with their parents or guardian – please contact the volunteer coordinator directly to sign up. (volunteer@indplsartcenter.org or 317-255-2464 x 249) · Dress Code: Volunteers must wear the volunteer t-shirt that is provided to them. It is important to wear comfortable clothing and shoes, tennis shoes are recommended. There is not a changing station so wear something that you will be comfortable in underneath your volunteer t-shirt. · Please do not bring personal items to the art fair as there is no place to store them. · In order to ensure your safety and the safety of fair goers, the consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited until the completion of your volunteer shift. · Young children or pets are not allowed to accompany the volunteer during their volunteer duty. If a child wants to volunteer, they must be 16 years of age or older. (See above) · Only those volunteering will receive free admission into the fair, family members & friends that accompany you must go through a gate area. WHY VOLUNTEER? · Free Admission to the Broad Ripple Art Fair · Free BRAF t-shirt · Spend a day with your friends or meet new people! · Free shuttle ride to the fair! · Each hour you volunteer counts as $1 toward a class! VOLUNTEER AREAS Artist Area– assist with load-in (Friday all day & Saturday
a.m.), “booth sit” for the artists, answer questions, give
directions, and provide hospitality services for the
artists. Soft Drinks/Water – sell sodas and water. Beer & Wine– sell
beer and wine. Vendor Assistant / Ice– assist in setting up all food
and beverage areas, use golf cart to deliver supplies
and ice, and monitor ice used by food vendors. Gates– assist with setting up of gate area, stamp hands, take tickets, and hand out programs. Recycling Monitors – assist with setting up of recycling receptacles;
monitoring receptacles during fair, transferring recycling to larger bins, tear
down of receptacles at end of fair. Kids’ World – assists children with art activities in the Creativity Tent. Traffic – Monitor barricades and direct fair goers to entrance
areas. Set Up/Tear Down – assist with fair set-up and hanging signage all day Friday and Saturday A.M. Help tear-down on Sunday P.M. Membership Table – inform fair goers
about the
Entertainment Assistant – assists with set-up and help
transport entertainers. Information Tent– offer assistance to fair goers by providing directions and information. **The application deadline is 4/20/2009. You will be notified of your assignment approximately 14 days before the Art Fair. All volunteer assignments are made on a first-come, first-serve basis. |
